In January 2008, and in collaboration with its facilitators, the LRC created the project "Localization4all" working with students of the Graduate Diploma in Localisation Technology and the MSc in Global Computing and Localisation at the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems (CSIS) at UL. The 2008 Annual Conference of the LRC had Localisation4All as its theme and was supported by the recently established Centre for Next Generation Localisation (CNGL). At this conference, and following meetings with Lori Thicke and John Papaioannou of Translators without Borders, Lori gave a keynote at the LRC XIII conference.
"Localization for all" aims to develop a vision for localization inspired by the needs, wishes, imagination and ambitions of peoples, be they CEOs of large multinational companies or curious young people connecting with each other - simply anyone trying to understand or to convey a message in a language and a culture that is not their own.
This webpage was set up to serve as a showcase for this project. It is still under development and will change as the project develops.
